Show Parowan man to show paintings, drawings CEDAR CITY Parowan resident Curt Paulson will exhibit 18 paintings and drawings in a one man show at the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery on the Southern Utah State College campus during May. The exhibit is being shown in conjunction with the "Annual SUSC Art Students Exhibition." The exhibits will open with a reception tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. Refreshments Refresh-ments will be served and the public is invited to attend. The artist states, "I am never content with my talents or work. I believe that to be a true artist I must continue to educate myself, to find exciting challenges and try ideas or compositions that I haven't yet used. If I always rely on the same compositions and techniques, then I will cease to ' create something fresh and new." Paulson is a 1976 graduate of SUSC and has won several awards including a First Place Award in the 1980 Spring Art Fair in St. George, Awards of Merit during 1979 at the Springville April Salon and the Deseret News Art Show, the Sweepstakes in oil painting at the 1978 Iron County Fair and First and Third Place Awards in the college division of the 1975 Cedar City Annual An-nual Show. The artist has had several one man shows at State Bank of Southern Utah, as well as several two man shows including an exhibition in 1979 at the Southwestern Utah Arts Council Building in St. George. His work was included in the Southern Utah Artists Exhibit held at the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery during 1981. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., 7 to 9 p.m. weekdays and 1 to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. |
