Show SUSC invitational track meet planned 4 . - ; , - ::;.r ' ' t' I 4k It CEDAR CITY Favorites for Friday's Southern Utah State College Invitational Cross Country Meet will be Weber State and College of Southern Idaho in the men's division and Utah and Northern Arizona in the women's division. The Thunderbirds will host the competition at the Painted Hills Golf Course. The 5,000 meter (just over three miles) women's race will start at 3 p.m. The men's five-mile five-mile chase is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m. Six men's teams are entered, and at least three complete women's squads are expected. Utah, Weber State, and Northern Arizona will bring both men's and women's complete teams. Southern Idaho will bring a full complement com-plement of men and at least a partial women's team. The host T-Birds and College of Eastern Utah will have men's teams competing. "College of Southern Idaho has a group of older students from other countries participating, and they've been winning several meets. It should be tight between CSI and Weber for the men's title," Boyd Adams, SUSC coach, indicates. "Utah and Northern Arizona have done well in women's races this year." Adams is pleased with the recent improvement of all his runners. A pair of freshmen, Gordon Hyde, from Salt Lake City's Skyline High School, and Chad Jones from Davis High in Kaysville, have led the Thunderbird runners all season. Each has placed first among SUSC runners run-ners twice this year. Hyde led the 'Birds at the Northern Arizona and the University of Utah in-vitationals. in-vitationals. Jones finished first among SUSC runners at Weber State and the Air Force Academy.
