Mission Days proclaimed and celebration set for Nov. CEDAR CITY -Standing on a historic spot where pioneers into the Cedar Valley first envisioned what is now Cedar City. Mayor Jack Sawyers Friday signed a proclamation declaring Nov. 8 lo 14 as Iron Mission Days. The proclamation was signed near a large rock on north Main Street which will soon bear a plague naming the spot. There will be many activities and celebrations in Cedar City during the Week, with a large birthday celebration being planned for Nov. 11, the 130th birthday of the City. The proclamation reads as follows: To honor and show respect lor our pioneer tradition, it is appropriate ap-propriate that as a city we acknowledge the sacrifices rendered and hardships suffered by our forefathers. Therefore, the one week period from November 8th through 14th. 1981, is proclaimed as Iron Mission Days, with November 11th being designated as the day for Cedar City's 130th birthday celebration, within Cedar City, Iron County.
