Show Deer hunting editor had 'real good time 9 I really had a good time this weekend. I mean, I had a ball. This weekend, for the 13th year, I went out deer hunting. And I really did have a good time. Let me tell you about it. Actually, the whole thing started about a week ago, when I went up to the sporting goods store to purchase bullets (about $8), a new hunting vest (about $20) and a new hat (about $5). All the prices are estimated, because I close my eyes whenever making hunting purchases. By. Bruce Lee 5. But 1 really do enjoy getting up early in the morning, having a quick breakfast break-fast of cold sausage and dry hash browns and heading out for the hills with the stars twinkling in the sky above me, and the cold twinkling in the cold at my feet. I had a ball. Of course, the true hunters work their way deep into the mountains to do their hunting, so I clung in desperation to the tail of a horse as we headed up the hill. It was really fun. A whole lot more fun than walking up the hill without the aid of a horse. Of course, I reached my favorite spot well before the sun came up, and stood in the snow as I watched the rays finally play over the hills. It was really a lot of fun. I had a ball, stomping my feet to keep them warm and keeping my hands inside, two pair of gloves and my pockets. It was really fun. And this year was even more fun than some other years. This year, I saw a buck; and not only did I see one, I shot one. Wow. The buck was on the opposite hillside, only a couple of hundred yards as the crow flies, but more like two miles up and down the canyon walls, but it was really a lot of fun sliding around in the snow. Well, I won't even tell you how much fun it was once I reached the downed deer and cleaned it out. You can all imagine. Just let me tell you it was fun. And so was dragging the deer to the bottom of the hill and loading it on' the horse to carry back to camp. I really had a ball. In fact, I had so much fun that I am already beginning to plan for next year. It should really be fun. From there I went out to buy food for the big weekend. Deer hunters eat well, too. Steak for dinner, lots of junk food in between and sausage and hash browned potatoes for breakfast. About $30. And boy, did I have a good time. Deer hunters start early in the morning, too.
