Show Petree's attorneys file murder appeal CEDAR CITY - Attorneys J. Scott Thorley and Patrick Fenton have filed an appeal with the Utah Supreme Court in the John Wilson Petree murder case. Petree was charged with second degree murder in a case involving the death of 15-year-old Phyliis Ady of Springville over three years ago. Petree was charged with her murder on Sept. 17, 1980, after a summer-long , investigation of a body found in an abandoned, carrot celler on July 2. A jury found Petree guilty of the crime earlier this year, and he was sentenced to five years to life in the Utah State Prison by Fifth District Court Judge J, Harlan Burns. |
