Show Freshmen team loses to Beaver Cedar High's freshmen football team once again experienced a loss, this time at the hands of Beaver High last week. The final score for the contest was 32-12. Cedar High scored twice in the second half. Both touchdowns resulted from passes from quarterback Jeff Heap to receiver David Hart. The freshmen team played well but were outsized and outex-perienced outex-perienced by the older Beaver squad. The Red me n ' s sophomore team was much more successful as they downed region-rival Dixie by a 16-6 tally. The young Reds were trailing 6-0 at the half but put together two late game touchdowns to move out in front. The first touchdown resulted from a pass thrown by Mark Esplin to MarkDrawe. The second TD was on a run by Rick Thomas and on both scores, two-point conversions con-versions were successful. The sophomore team has been struggling offensively of-fensively this season. Esplin is the third quarterback to start for the young Reds. CHS's defense also turned in a good performance per-formance at Dixie. |
