Show Police report Police arrest twelve The Cedar City Police Department reported that over the past weekend 12 people were arrested on various offenses. of-fenses. Included in those arrests were three drug possession .' charges and three arrests for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol. The three controlled substances arrests were made by Officers Ron Garrett and Terry Petersen in two separate offenses. Stanley L. Esplin, 28, of Cedar City, was arrested for possession of marijuana and other controlled substances after officers received a call of a suspicious vehicle near the LDS Church in Cedar Knolls late Friday. - While investigating the complaint, the officers allegedly " . found the controlled substances in Esplin's vehicle, and he was taken into custody and later released on $250 bail. Shortly before 11 p.m. Friday Ronald C. Bryant, 20, and Randy K. Woolsey, 20, both of Cedar City, were arrested for possession of marijuana after officers stopped the car they were driving for a reported traffic violation. According Ac-cording ' to the officer's report, suspected marijuana was found in the car and on the person of one of the arrested ,men. The incident took place in the vicinity of 500 West and 400 North. - After being placed in custody, both men were released on $100 bond each. Other arrests made .included two juveniles on shoplifting charges and three alcohol-related offenses. Also reported to the police on Saturday was the burglary of an apartment near 300 South 100 East in which $918 was reportedly taken. Officers believe the burglar entered the apartment through a window where the screen had been slashed. Apparently Ap-parently the thief was frightened away before additional items could be removed from the residence. ' The burglary is under investigation, but police have no suspects at this time.
