Show Key injuries hamper Rams at N Sevier Parowan Ram football players became nearly extinct during their 34-0 lass to North Sevier last Friday. The Rams lost five starters who all played both ways and ended up finishing the contest with several junior varsity players doing battle. "We were plagued by injuries," said a disconcerted coach Scott Doubck. "We lost live starters during the game. We don't have the depth to back those kids up." Going into the game, the Rams had lost starting quarterback and defensive back Robbie Stevens with a broken foot. During the . contest they lost quar- terback Alan Burton, Gorden Mor-tensen, Mor-tensen, Randy Robinson, Doug Spen-dlove Spen-dlove and Chris Robb. Fortunately for PUS, none of the injuries were serious, and Parowan should again be healthy when they face Beaver next week. "Hopefully we'll lie able to bounce back," said Doubck. Parowan's offense sputtered against North Sevier, picking-up only 11 total yards. Their defense played fairly well, giving up 2(i3 yards but lots of points. Doubvk praised Chad Robinson and Kelly Orton for their defensive play. "Chad's just consistent every week," said Doulx'k. North Sevier scored once in the first quarter on an 11-yard Rhett Roberts to , Burke Christensen TD toss. They exploded ex-ploded for 21 points in the second period with all three scores coming on the ground. Doing heavy damage was all-state all-state running back Glen Bills. North Sevier scored once again in the third quarter touring the final tally to 34 0, amassing a total of 217 yards on the ground and 46 in the air. Parowan did intercept two passes and recover one fumble to temporarily thwart the North Sevier club. Once again, it was the case where the big quarter really hurt the Rams. They contained North Sevier throughout most of the game, holding them scoreless in the fourth quarter, but the big 21 M)int spree in the second period did the Rams under. Parowan will not play tomorrow tx-cause of UFA and will face two tough closing contests to end their season. The Hams will face Beaver at home next week and then close with Milford at home the following week. Parowan (0) vs No. Sevier (34) Paro. N.
