Show Lamoreaux Wins Regional Hoop Shoot . PABOWAN - Sean M. Lamoreaux took first place in the Regional Elks National Hoop Shoot contest held in Las Vegas last Saturday. He was awarded a beautiful trophy and an expense paid trip for he and his parent to Indianapolis where he will compete in the national finals March 9. The contest in Las Vegas featured winners from California, Hawaii, Nevada, Arizona and Utah. The national finals will feature Sean and 11 other Regional winners in his age group and winners will perform at half time at the, Indiana Pacers vs Cleveland Cavaliers basketball game. Sean will represent the CONTEST WINNER. Scan Lamoreaux, 11 year old from Parowan is surrounded by trophies won in the Elks Hoop Shoot competition. Sean won the western regional competition at Las Vegas, Nev. this past week and is headed for the national finals to be h eld March 9. Cedar City F21ks Lodge and has won in Parowan, Cedar, Richfield, Springville and Las Vegas to qualify for the national finals. In the Nevada competition he made 22 of 25 foul shots to win first place. Sean is 11 years old and is the son of Randy and JoAnne Lamoreaux of Parowan. Over 3 million boys and girls participated in the Elks National Hoop Shoot and just 72 will go to the National Finals in Indianapolis. Competing will be regional winners in three age groups for both boys and girls. |
