Show T-bird JV's close Season For the "umpteenth" and last time this year, the Southern Utah State College junior varsity basketball team will be going up against a team considerably taller than itself. The Thunderbird jayvees will close the 1979-80 season Saturday against College of Eastern Utah in a 5:15 p.m. preliminary to the SUSC-New SUSC-New Mexico Highlands game. "We never did have any real height, and becaue of the move of several players to the varsity and because of some other personnel problems, what height we did have was dissipated," Steve Hodson, SUSC jayvee coach says. CEU is scheduled to start three players 6-6 or taller. The tallest SU jayvee player is 6-6. "We know a little of what we are up against," Hodson says. "We played them a good first half up at Price before losing, 77-62. We are confident that if we play well, we can close the year with a victory." The Thunderbird junior varsity started their final week of the season with a 2-10 2-10 record. The 'Birds were scheduled to meet Dixie College Tuesday in Cedar City. |
