Show SUSC Nursing Program Individuals interested in applying for admission into the Weber State College cooperative associate degree nursing program should have their applications ap-plications in by March 31, 1980. Applications may be picked up in the Nursing Department .. office at SUSC in Cedar City, or Dixie College in St. George. Applicants must be residents of the state of Utah, and preferably form one of the five southwestern counties. There are no restricitons as to age, sex, or race. Upon completion of the first year of the nursing progam the students may take a national examination enabling them to be licensed practical nurses. At the end of the second year students may take another national examination enabling them to be registered nurses. The first year classes are taken on the SUSC campus, and the second year classes are taken on the Dixie College campus. Clinical facilities are utilized at both Valley View Medical Center and Dixie Medical Center. Twenty-four students are admitted into the first year. LPN students (advanced placement) are admitted into the second year when there is space. There is space for 24 students. (Not all generic students continue on into the 2nd year). Thus we have forty-eight students enrolled in the program. |
