Show News from Our People In the Armed Services By 5L4BEL JAKVIS Two Soldier News Corrections In our Soldier News column of Oct. 12th, we listed Cpl. Arnold Cannon, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Q. Cannon, St. George, as having been promoted to Lieutenant Lieuten-ant with the U. S. Marines. Cpl. Cannon is in England and it was his brother, George S. Cannon, who was given the promotion as an anniversary present, Aug. 1st. Also in a recent issue we skipped skip-ped a line and gave Sgt. Donald Empey credit of "round the world" trips, which should have gone to his brother, William K. Empey, whose name failed to appear in the story. William Kay Empey is Gunner's Mate 3c and when home recently on leave, gave the interesting stories- of his trips to India and the souvenirs he had brought home from all over the world. Pi la )a Pvt. R. Reber WeU Again Pvt. Clare L. Reber, son of Mr. and Mrs. Loren Reber of Santa Clara is back with his company com-pany again, after six weeks hospitalization hos-pitalization on Bouganville Island. He says there are some things he'll miss now, and that's sheets to sleep in and. ice cream every other day. However, he is happy to be on duty once more. |
