Show Dixie College News . Tryouts for the college play, "Ring Around Elizabeth", by Charl Armstrong, are being held this afternoon at 5. Miss Myrtle Henderson will direct the play, which will be presented Nov. 30. D. J. C. The College will dismiss next Thursday and Friday while the teachers attend the U. E. A. in Salt Lake City. This will leave one day to be made up. The extra dayy will be held on Saturday, Jan. 6th. D. J. C. The budget committee of the Utah State Legislature is now asking for estimates on the proposed pro-posed expenditures for the Dixie college during the next biennium. A complete regular program is being planned. D. J. C. j Dr. Ross Hardy will present a paper on the conservation of our natural resources at a meeting of the Utah Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters in Provo Satur-! 3ay. D. J. C. P.ay Garner, director of the Dixie Future Farmers, brought in some prize calves from Garrison last week end. D. J. C. Dr. Ross Hardy of the Dixie college biology department has sent a sample of local milkweeds and milkweed seed to Robert E. Woodson Jr., assistant curator, of the Missouri botanical garden in St. Louis, Mo. The milkweed is of military importance, the seed floss particularly being a substitute substi-tute for kapok, now controlled by Japan. |
