Show LaYERKIN Pansy L. Hardy Reporter We had a fine Sacrament meeting meet-ing last Sunday. Henry Gubler was the principal speaker, and gave a very fine report of his missionary labors in and around Los Angeles. Sam Segler, Deacon, gave a short talk as part of his Priesthood work; Joy Sanders played a piano solo. The names of two boys, Sam Segler and Jerald Squire were presented for advancement in their quorum work. It was mentioned that Jerald Jer-ald who has been president of the Deacon's quorum for the past two years has in that time attended every quorum meeting, every Sunday Sun-day and Sacrament meeting, and has performed his duties as president presi-dent very well. At the last quarterly conference confer-ence at Hurricane, Mrs. Roland Webb and Mrs. Willard Duncan were put in as president and first counselor, respectively, of the stake Y. L. M. I. A. Mrs. Pauline Christensen and L. C. Fuller were visitors at their home here, Mrs. Christensen from St. George, where she teaches, and Mr. Fuller from California, where he is employed. Mrs. Roland Webb spent last week in Salt Lake. The Scout dance held last Tuesday Tues-day to raise funds for a Scout house was a complete success. The boys cleared $63 toward their project. The first annual Zion Park Rod and Gun club dance was held here last Wednesday evening. A large crowd attended. Everyone seemed to have a fine time. Harvey Dalton of Salt Lake City was a visitors here Sunday. An M. I. A. preparation meeting was held at Max Woodbury's last Sunday. Lieut. Donworth Gubler, who is a bombardier at Midland, Texas, is home for a two weeks' leave. The junior Sunday school under the direction of Sarah A. Sand- ers cleaned the weeds from the church grounds last week. Whitney Jones had the misfortune mis-fortune to fall out of a car, when the door came open and is in the Iron county hospital. The last news was that he is in a critical condition. |
