Show Born, a son to Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Ray-mond Herbert of Washington, on Oct. 20. Mr. and Mrs. R. L. (Larkin) Smith and two children, Annalee and Vae Don, arrived this week from Artesia, Calif., to visit relatives. rela-tives. Mr. Smith returned to his employment. His wife and children child-ren will remain for several weeks. -It. ..(. 'It- TV -Jf Mrs. Frederick Downer, the former Daisy May, left last week for Chicago, where she will join her husband, Pvt. Downer, at the home of his parents. He is home on furlough from military training. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bracken have moved to St. George from Central and will make their home here. Their daughter, Mrs. Henry Steffen, who has been visiting with them for the past month, will return this week end to her home in Sacramento. Mrs. Louie Wells returned last Thursday to her home in Logan-dale, Logan-dale, after spending a month here with her children, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Schmutz and two daughters. George Schmutz returned last week from Wichita, Kan., where he has been employed the past several months. J'- .!(. -a' it-Mrs. it-Mrs. Grant Brooks and daughter, daugh-ter, Dawn, returned early Friday morning from Burbank, Calif., where they visited relatives during dur-ing the week. They also visited Seaman Brooks in San Pedro, where he is stationed in Navy training. w. Jt. ot. w Tf w Mrs. Sina Bunting is here from Cedar City to spend the week at Temple work. Visiting friends in St. George last week were Mr. and Mrs. Keith Ross of Los Angeles. Mr. Ross will be remembered as a former St. George barber. He is employed at defense work in Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Williams had as their guests over the week end, Mrs. William's two nephews, Bob and Bill Thomas of Portland. Bob is on vacation from his work in Keyser ship yards, Portland. Bill has just completed his boot training train-ing at Farragut and returned to that place for his next assignment. assign-ment. Relatives visited with them at the Williams' home Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Foote are spending the week in Glendale, Utah. -a' 'I? Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Nelson and baby arrived last week from Provo to visit their parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Nelson and Mr. and Mrs. Claud Thompson, and take in the deer hunt. ;: Mr. and Mrs. William Gould have returned to Las Vegas Wednesday Wed-nesday after spending a week in St. George and Washington, canning can-ning fruit and joining in the deer hunt. Mrs. Melba Paxman Asmus is reported making improvement, having been in Salt Lake City the past six weeks for surgery on her legs, which were broken in a car accident in Texas ten months ago. Guest this week of Mr. and Mrs. William Brooks is Newell K. Young of Salt Lake City. He was guest speaker in the Center ward services last Sunday. Mrs. Arnold Thompson and daughter, Diana, visited relatives in St. George Thursday over Saturday, Sat-urday, making the trip with her brother, Dr. Grant Gregerson and son, Pvt. Grant S. Gregerson. Thoy were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Hafen. Ralph Westover left Saturday for Denver, where he is attending the Purina convention. He will return Saturday. Mrs. J. A. Larson returned last week from spending two months with relatives in Blackfoot, Ida., and Ogden and Salt Lake City. -i 'i? Mrs. Owen Pendleton was hostess host-ess last Thursday evening to members of the Three-W club. Lunch was served after which the group played cards. |
