Show USES Advised To Tighten Administration of The WMC Requirements Charles E. Pickett, manager of the War Manpower Commission's St. George office, today announced announc-ed that all . offices of the United States Employment Service have been advised to tighten administration admini-stration of the WMC requirements for evidence of availability as a prerequisite to the employer of any worker who has moved into an area. This action is necessary, Mr. Pickett explained, to help fill urgent manpower requirements in war plants producing "Must" items for the armed forces and retain needed workers in other essential establishments on a nation-wide basis. Mr. Pickett suggested that any worker, in order to prevent possible possi-ble delay or difficulty in securing new employment, consult the USES office nearest to him before going to another area. The local USES office, he pointed out, can inform him about job openings in the area and in other areas and provide him, if he is eligible with a statement of availability that he must have in order to be referred for employment in the area to which he is moving. |
