Show Interesting Programs Presented In Vards Here Last Sunday Sunday afternoon programs in the four local wards offered interesting interest-ing diversions. Newell K. Young was speaker in the center ward, sermonizing on the religious trend of the present day. The east ward presented a special spe-cial program featuring 12 returned missionaries. The group included Lewis Christian, Phillip Foremast-er, Foremast-er, Asa Judd, George T. Thompson, Thomp-son, M. L. McAllister, George E. Miles, Mrs. Ross Syphus, Mrs. Everett Syphus, E. D. Seegmiller, Lorin A. Little, LeVerna Hyatt, Don Schmutz, George P. Lytic and Myron Holgate. Among the speakers were those who have served in practically all of the U. S. missions as well as some foreign missions, including England, Eng-land, Germany and the Pacific Islands. Special music numbers for this program were quartettes by Mrs. Lorin Little, Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Morris Jr., and W. T. The west ward program featured featur-ed Bob and Bill Thomas, former ward members, and Pvt. Merrill Cox, son of Frank L. Cox, as speakers with vocal trios by Mrs. Murray Webb, Mrs. Gerald Blake and Mrs. Kex Nelson, accompanied accompani-ed by Mrs. Mae Pace. The numbers num-bers were, "I Heard the Forrest' Pray" and "The Lord's Prayer". In the south ward the speakers were George Emack, who with his family moved to St. George recently re-cently to make their home and AC Floyd Parry, who was home over the week end from Yuma, Ariz., where he is training with the Army Air forces. The music numbers for this program included violin duets by Miss Dawn Andrus and Miss Josephone Jones and a vocal solo by Sonny Morris, son of Mr. and Mrs. LeGene Morris who is here for the winter with his grandparents, grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Morris Mor-ris Jr. |
