Mr. and Mrs. Norman Marshall were week-end guests with Mrs. Marshall's parents in Glendale, and Mrs. Kenneth Judd and son, Terry, and Mr. Judd's brother, Merlin Judd, were guests in Fre-donia Fre-donia over the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sevy of Panguitch visited in St. George Monday night with Mrs. Sevy's mother, Mrs. Violet Chtjrch and other relatives. They were accompanied accom-panied by their son, Thomas, who is returning with them, having received a back injury with a scaffold fell while he, with others were working on the Rockville L. D. S. chapel. Mrs. Archie D. Wallis took the 'evening bus Tuesday for Salt Lake on business. Miss Anna Neilson was guest of honor at a birthday anniversary party given at the family home Tuesday evening following M. I. A. Refreshments were served to 12. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Hickman of Ogden were guests Saturday over. Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph W. Judd, returning home early Thursday morning. Art Starr returned to his employment em-ployment in Los Angeles last Thursday after spending a week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Starr and other relatives in St. George. Mrs. Ralph Walker is spending the week in St. George with her daughter, Mrs. R. N. Ashby. Mrs. B. G. Milne entertained at a birthday anniversary dinner and Bridge party last Saturday evening eve-ning honoring her husband. Dinner Din-ner was served at the Arrowhead hotel at' one long table centered with a mammoth birthday cake flanked by bowls of red sweet peas. Following dinner the group returned to the Milne apartment where Mrs. L,. W. McGregor won high score in Bridge. Mrs. LaVon McQuaid entertained enter-tained three tables at Bridge at her home last Thursday evening. Honors went to Mrs. R. N. Ashby and Mrs. Wesley Nelson. Mrs. R. "N. Ashby, Mrs. L. W. McGregor and Mrs. George Pace were co-hostesses last Friday afternoon aft-ernoon at the Arrowhead hotel to members of the Four-O-Bridge club. Heart motifs were used in table decorations, favors and lunch. High score went to Mrs. Jos. J. Milne, second place to Mrs. Reid "Mathis. New members present included Mesdames Clark Empey, Reid Mathis, Clawson Burgess, Robert Pickett, Rulon Pectol, Glenn Prisbrey, Clyde McQuaid Mc-Quaid and Louise Sanders. The Bridgettes met at the home of Mrs. Merlin Milne Wednesday afternoon. High score honors were won by Mrs. Robert Pickett and Mrs. Andrew McArthur. Supt. Milton E. Moody will attend at-tend the Progressive Educational conference in Provo Friday and Saturday. He is being acompan-ied acompan-ied by Mrs. Lucille Pitchforth and the Misses Tillie and Ruth Winsor, lone Olsen and Fay Stirling. Stirl-ing. Mr. and Mrs. Stewart are also expecting to attend. Mrs. Reed Mathis entertained the Easy Aces club at her home Wednesday evening. Mrs. Darrell Bracken of Ely, Nev., was a special spe-cial guest. High score honors for Bridge went to Mrs. Rulon Pectol, Mrs. Rex Nelson and Mrs. Iliff Andrus. Mr. and Mrs. Duke Sutton entertained en-tertained last Saturday evening at an informal dinner party at their home. Cards followed dinner din-ner with high scores going to Mr. and Mrs. Iliff Andrus and Mr. and Mrs. Reid Mathis. The Firmage All-stars beat the Enterprise Town team 41-32 in a game on the Enterprise floor Monday Mon-day evening. Andrew McArthur was high scorer for the evening. The team will play the Kanab Town team here Saturday night. Pres. Glenn E. Snow, Laron Andrus, Lawrence Wadsworth, Roy Welker and E. Eric Snow were guests of the Cedar City Rotary club Tuesday, after which they met with the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce. Plans were made for the visit of the state legislators. Lee to attend her brother, Henderson Cox's funeral services. Lothair Mangum of Circleville spent the week-end in St. George with Mrs. Mangum Mrs. Reba Sorenson and daughter daugh-ter Berniece Wade, and Miss Berniece Foster left Friday for their home in Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. James Coates of Phoenix, and LeGrande Coates of Los Angeles returned to their homes Saturday after ' spending the week in St. George. An informal in-formal family party honored the three at the home of Bishop and Mrs. Wilford Schmutz Friday evening. eve-ning. A cottage meeting was held Friday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. Miss lone Blazzard, east district missionary conducted the program. Mrs. Robert E. Murphy of Los Angeles, her sister, Mrs. Elloyd Burton, and brother, Robert Cox of Burbank, Calif., left for their respective homes Tuesday after spending a week in St. George during the final illness and burial of their father, the late Henderson Hender-son Cox. They were accompanied home by their mother who will visit with them indefinitely. Mrs. Alma Millett took the early morning bus Monday for Los Angeles where she will join her husband who has employment with the Douglas Aircraft plant. The west district missionaries held a cottage meeting last Saturday Sat-urday evening at the home of Ward Esplin, which was well attended. at-tended. Mr. and Mrs. Neal McGarvie and small daughter were visitors Sunday from Las Vegas at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chauncey Macfarlane. Also visiting them are their daughter, Mrs. Don McGarvie and her three children, Pat, Bob and Carma Lynn, who plan to go on to Salt Lake City this week-end. Mrs. Reed Leigh entertained at a birthday anniversary surprise party at her apartment last Thursday Thurs-day evening, honoring her mother, Rosilla B. Andrus. A dozen relatives rela-tives and friends were invited and spent the evening visiting. Dick Morris, who has been employed em-ployed at the Liberty Drug company, com-pany, left Tuesday morning for Las Vegas where he has employment employ-ment at the Boulder Drug. Wesley A. Nelson is spending this week in Denver buying merchandise mer-chandise and attending the Gamble store managers' convention. A group of lady friends of Mrs. Paul Hafen surprised her Friday evening with a pot-luck party at her home. Miss Patricia Smith underwent an appendectomy at the local hospital hos-pital February 6. Guests this week of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Sutphin are Mr. Sut-phin's Sut-phin's sister, Miss LaVetta Sutphin, Sut-phin, and her friend Miss Evelyn Elliot of Indianapolis, Ind. The small son of Mr. and Mrs. William Cottam received treatment treat-ment in the local hospital February Feb-ruary 6 to 10. Mrs. Annie Oldroyd, Mrs. Pri-scilla Pri-scilla Meacham and Mrs. Leah Savage, all of Annabella, were guests Sunday over Wednesday of Mrs. Fred Kurt. They were here to attend the birthday anniversary Tuesday of Mrs. Kurt, who is a sister of the first two, and aunt of the latter. Edward Syphus returned Monday Mon-day from a two-week's vi.-it with his children in Logandalc, Nev. Clark Church, four-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Church, overturned on his tricycle while riding on the pavement about 3 p. m., Wednesday, suffering a slight brain contusion. He recovered re-covered consciousness late Wednesday Wed-nesday evening and is reported improved. Claud Worthen suffered a broken brok-en hand Feb. 9 and was treated for injuries in the local hospital. The injury occurred when he was returning from Santa Clara and the car in which he was riding was jammed by another car. Mrs. Heber Thompson will be hostess to the N. E. B. club members mem-bers at her home this (Thursday) evening. Among the names omitted previously prev-iously of those from out of town who attended the Orin N.
