Show Thirteen Patrols Take Part In Scout Circus Here Tuesday Hite Thirteen patrols from six troops participated in the Scout Circus Tuesday night, and all but one received honor rating in the contests. con-tests. Troops participating were those from Santa Clara and Washington Wash-ington and the four from St. George. Eight contests were conducted; each of the six troops gave an exhibition of some phase of Scouting; Scout-ing; and the finale was a tumbling tum-bling act under the direction of Reed Blake, athletic counselor. Santa Clara demonstrated the various uses of the Scout neckerchief; neck-erchief; troop 402 gave an exhibition ex-hibition of signaling; troop 401 pantomimed gun safety; troop 404 exhibited some pioneering projects proj-ects ; Washington presented a comic animal act; and troop 403 mimicked a day in camp, assisted as-sisted by Junior Walker as bugler. Patrols winning 12 or more points in the contest were given an "A" rating. The following qualified: Kings, of Washington; Little Bear, 403; Flying Eagles, 402; Panther, 404. Nine points were necessary for "B" rating, with the following qualifying: Eagles, Washington; Wolves, 403; Eagles, 404. Five patrols qualified quali-fied for "C" rating, having earned six points or more, as follows: Big Bears, 403; Beavers, 404; Mooses, 401; Cats, 401; Santa Clara. Members of the district committee commit-tee judged the most efficient troop of the evening in point of Drganization and discipline. The decision was given to Troop 404. Leo G. Smith, chairman of activities, ac-tivities, was in charge of the circus. He was assisted by B. Glen Smith, commissioner. |
