Show Dixie Tennis Club Wins Las Vegas Tournament The Dixie tennis club won the tournament at Las Vegas last Saturday by a narrow margin after competing in seven interesting inter-esting and hard-fought matches. The Vegas boys made a clean sweep of the three singles matches completed, but the Dixie teams reversed things .in the doubles. In the doubles Smith-Paxman won the number 1 from Ridley-Wasden Ridley-Wasden 6-2. 4-6. 6-3; in the number num-ber 2 Walker-Pickett trounced Stevenson-Wasden 6-2, 6-2: in the number 3 Fordham and Meacham had little difficulty disposing of Record-Brick 6-2. 6-3. A return meet is planned for early March. Anyone interested should get in touch with Elmer Pickett. |
