Show r -i j Stake Beautifieation Committee Speaks ! FELLOW CITIZENS: Are you thinking of what our town is going to look like to the hundreds of thousands of visitors i who are coming to attend the Utah Centennial World's Fair in 1947 ? If not, it is high time wo are giving this thought our wholehearted attention. ' Many towns in our state have been at work on the beautifieation program for more than a year. Some of our townsfolk are doing a fine job of dressing up their premises ! and many are discouraged with their efforts because of the repeated visits of loose stork. Surely our town (should bo getting out of the cow pasture stage. We should seriously consider the removal of all unsightly barns, pens and coop i which at present form a distressing background to Rtreet front decoration. Why not each city block as a competitive unit, Join In a town wide beautifieation program, clean-up and decorate IU sidewalks and yards; the block making the best showing each year to receive a suitable award. Your committee will be pleased to help In every possible way In obtaining flowers, shrubs, trees, etc. We are Informed ! that many plants and cuttings can be had freo or at slight ' cost. If persons having anything In this line would like to contribute to the program, they might notify any member of this committee and we will see that the same Is placed where needed.
