Show Hurricane Hands Dixie One of Worst Defeats In Its History Although defeated decisively by the Hurricane Tigers at Hurricane Friday night, the Dixie Flyers remain re-main tied for the top spot, and will battle it out with Kanab here Saturday to determine which of these two teams will remain on top. Cedar City shares the honors with these two at the present time, with Hurricane and Parowan but one game behind. The expected "battle" between the Flyers and the Tigers turned out to be a "rout", Coach Brooks' boys coming out on the long end of a 39-16 score. The Tigers put on an excellent exhibition of fight, ball rustling, scoring and defense, and that is what it takes to win ball games. On the other hand, the Flyers played their worst ball game of the season. ,. At the quarter quar-ter they led 8-2; at the half the lead had mounted 19-4. In the third quarter the Flyers came back with the only fight they showed in the game and closed the gap 13-21. Fri-day. Coach Hafen hopes this contest con-test will bring the boys out of their slump and put them in a fighting mood for Kanab when the Cowboys come here Saturday. Cedar City will be put on the spot Friday at Parowan. Dixie will entertain Parowan here the next Friday night, and Cedar will come here the following follow-ing week. 'The Flyers play their final game at Kanab on March 7. Parowan won from Orderville last Friday 32-18, but lost the following night at Kanab 25-22. Cedar swamped Enterprise 47-29 Friday. |
