Show Pine Yalley Mrs. E. S. Beckstrom Reporter Mrs. E. S. Gardner and Mrs. Bruce Snow entertained at a sur-prisee sur-prisee party in honor of Mrs. Sarah Jacobson at her home on Friday afternoon, the occasion being be-ing her seventy-ninth birthday. Mrs. Jacogson'vis confined to her bed and will be fo rsome weeks to come. Fifteen ladies spent the afternoon visiting and recalling the many varied experiences which Mrs. Jacobson has lived through, and the great changes she has seen in her lifetime. She was present as the driving of the! golden spike at Promontory Point in 1869 and vividly remembers the details of that great celebration. celebra-tion. A delicious lunch was served serv-ed by the hostesses. Hans Anderson of St. George spent last week here laying brick for the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralston Barber. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Jones and Mr. and Mrs. Lehi Jones of Cedar City were visitors here on Sunday. Mrs. Caroline Jacobson and her brother Walter Jeffrey of St. George are staying here for some time. Miss Lois Chadburn of Veyo is employed at the Vere Beckstrom home. Mr. and Mrs. Cannon Gardner and Mrs. Layfayette Carter of Lund, Nev., and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Snow of Cedar City were guests at the home of Levi Snow on Sunday. Burton, the small son of Levi, returned home with Mrs. Carter, where he will remain indefinitely in-definitely while recovering from a recent operation. Mr. and Mrs. James P. Jacob-son Jacob-son of Los Angeles arrived here on Saturday to visit with their mother, Mrs. Sarah Jacobson. Miss Bessie Snow spent Sunday Sun-day at her home here from Enterprise En-terprise where she is teaching. Ranger and Mrs. I. H. Johnson John-son were business visitors in Cedar City on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Sullivan of St. George spent Sunday here at the home of her mother, Mrs. Emma Beckstrom. Bruce and Levi Snow spent Friday in Cedar City on business. Miss Maurine Gardner is spending spend-ing the week in St. George having hav-ing dental work done and visiting friends prior to leaving for Provo where she will enter the university univer-sity this year.
