Show Work Starts Tuesday On West Ward Chapel With Lot Being Cleared Work began at noon Tuesday of clearing the ground for the erection erec-tion of the new West ward chapel, which is to occupy the north half of the Mary M. Bentley property between Second and Third North on Second West street. j Entering the property with the bull dozer tractor it was only an hour's work to overturn the trees and gather up the shrubbery on the property which has been leveled lev-eled in preparation for making the bricks on the ground for the proposed building. This work will begin immediately, says Bp. James Andrus, but it will be six or eight weeks before the lumber lum-ber will be delivered, the bricks completed and the adobes hauled to the sight ready to break ground for the actual building. Bishop Andrus expresses high enthusiasm for the support being given by his ward members in (Continued on page eight) West Ward Chapel (Continued from first page) the interest of building this chapel, which has a very purti-nent purti-nent need even before the recent re-cent ward divisions. This building build-ing will furnish much employment for members during the winter months, providing the weather permits the usual construction activities ac-tivities and it is hoped by another year the West ward will be housed hous-ed in their new chapel. Everything has been done by way of investigation, observation, and contacting other ward officers offi-cers to avoid past errors and problems and to make this building build-ing to meet every possible need of the ward for many years to come, says Bishop Andrus, who with his people are anxiously awaiting the actual beginning of laying up the walls of the chapel. |
