Dunkley, who was ap- I pointed supervisor for the FSA in January 1935 with his head- quarters in St. George, left Mon- day night for Provo where he will take over the same duties in that office. While here he made loans through the FSA to low income farmers totaling $454,- 334, up to June 3 of this. year. Ari-zona. Of the $454,334 which had been loaned up to June 3, $195,118 has been collected and returned to the U. S. Treasury, representing a total of 43 per cent of the total money loaned. There has been a total of 302 loans made in Washington county alone, of which 52 have been paid in full, leaving a total case load at the present time of 250 low income farmers. Through his efforts as supervisor super-visor in this area, Mr. Dunkley has been able to extend help in improving the tenure of farmers and in obtaining debt adjustment which has proved invaluable to many farmers. DeVaughn Jones, w h o was formerly an assistant to Mr. Dunkley, is to take his place here as county supervisor with Stuart H. Richards appointed in the place of Mr. Jones. |
