On the top was a china bride and groom, standing amid delicate white flowers and" at their feet was a gold and white good luck horseshoe. horse-shoe. Included among the guests were six of the seven living children of Mr. and Mrs. Lund with their entire families. fam-ilies. They are R. C. Lund, Jr., Ivie Lund Bleak, and Bryan J. Lund, all of St. George; Thomas J. Lund and Jack Lund of Salt Lake Citv, and Lillian Lund Strat-ton. Strat-ton. Hurricane. Ella Lund Church of Nevada, was unable to attend. Also present were Mr. and Mrs. William Lund of Enterprise. R. C. Lund was bom in St. George March 31. 1S71. the eldest child of Robert C. and Mary Ann Romney Lund. Mrs. Lund, who before " her marriage was Sarah Ellen Judd, was also the eldest (Continued on page eight) Lund Golden Wedding (Continued from first page) child of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Judd. She was born Sept. 15, 1871 and her birthday anniversary was chosen for their wedding date. Their parents were long associated associ-ated in the mercantile business of early days of Dixie. Robert Lund and Thomas Judd were members of the Woolley, Lund and Judd company, which featured prominently promin-ently in mining, mercantile and other pioneer industries, and Thomas Judd was also well known as a special L. D. S. colonizer both in southern Utah and in Nevada. He established the town of La-Verkin La-Verkin as a fruit growing center and later was given the mission of colonizing Lund, White Pine county, Nevada. Commemorating both the wedding wed-ding anniversary and Mrs. Lund's birthday anniversary, the couple were showered with many beautiful beauti-ful gifts, among which was a beautiful, yellow gold wedding ring from the children to their mother. Besides their seven children they have 28 grand children child-ren and 4 great grandchildren. |
