Felix Scheer, oil machinery man of San Bernardino, who spent a few days here last week, on oil business, returned return-ed Saturday to his home. Mrs. Luzon Higbee and daughter Lucile of Los Angeles, Calif., arrived here Sunday to spend a few days visiting visit-ing Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Higbee and family. Mr. and Mrs. Jos. W. Webb moved to Hurricane this week where Mr, Webb will devote all his time to the flour mill. Their house will be occupied occu-pied by John Stauffer and family. Mrs. Alva Best entertained the O. D. O. club last Thursday afternoon. Melvin Fawcett spent the week end here visiting from Milford. William Graham came in Friday from Provo to spend about a week here visiting. U. club enjoyed a party Saturday evening at the homes of Mrs. Rachel Judd and Mrs. William Miller. Mrs. J. C. Keate entertained the Mothers Reading club at her home Tuesday. The regular program was carried out and a nice time had. Chas. D. Alsop left Saturday for Ogden on business in connection with the Arrowhead Petroleum Corporation, and the Mid-American Oil Company. A party was had at the home of Miss Wilma Cannon last Friday night in honor of her birthday. A jolly time was had. Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph E. Wolfley arrived from Etna, Wyoming, last week and expect to make this their home. Mr. and Mrs. Antone Prince and family of St. George, were in town Saturday. Antone was looking after his goats near by and Mrs. Prince and children visiting relatives in town. The office room of the Dixie Motor Co. has been newly renovated and the partition moved back about ten feet giving ample space for the showing of new cars. The South Ward Relief Society gave a farewell entertainment at the Lyceum Friday afternoon in honor of their president, Mrs. Jos. W. Webb, who is moving to Hurricane. Dr. F. J. Alexander who has been making regular professional visits to your town for many years to care for the eyes, will be at St. George, Arrowhead Ar-rowhead Hotel, Saturday Feb. 11th, from 12 to 8 p. m. LeRoy Cox returned Sunday from Salt Lake where he had been in connection con-nection with securing extradition papers pap-ers for the return of Clyde Papworth and Grant Hale to this county to face desertion charges. The extradition papers were issued by Governor Dern Saturday. Mrs. Edna Bentley and Miss Mishie Seegmiller entertained the W. W. Junior Jun-ior girls at the home of the former last Thursday night. Competitive games were enjoyed and prizes given to Misses Miss-es Belle Whipple and Blanche Duncan. Dun-can. Refreshments were served and a jolly time had by all present. Word was received by Charles Whipple feat his daughter, Maurine, was operated on for appendicitis last Saturday in Salt Lake City. The telegram stated that she passed through the operation without complications com-plications and is recovering rapidly. Miss Whipple has been teaching school at Georgetown, Idaho. Mr. Whipple left today for Salt Lake. A. Sampson left Wednesday for Los Angeles to spend some time visiting.
