The baby of Mr. and Mrs. Harmon Tobler of BUnkerville, Nev., has been critically ill here with pneumonia the past few days but is recovering nicely now. Mrs. Chloe Abbott of Bunker-ville Bunker-ville is here with them. R. J. Jolley of Burley, Idaho, who lived at Washington until fifteen years ago was a visitor in St. George the fore part of the week. He came to Washington to stay with his brother W. L. Jolley who has been very ill the past month, .but is slowly improving improv-ing now. Mr. Jolley motored down and reports the roads up north in good condition. ; Mrs. Hale Pearce entertained a num-j num-j ber of friends at a progressive rook party Wednesday night. Brown, chief construction engineer en-gineer on the Zion park highway work, was in St. George Friday, and on his return to the park took his wile and two children with him and they will spend the summer there with Mr. Brown. "Grandma" Abigal Walker was 86 years old Wednesday, Feb. 1. Mrs. Walker enjoys remarkably good health and is active and lively, doing all her own work. The bride is well known here having attended the Dixie College last year. Anton Morris Abbott and Claudie Nell Johnson both of Mesquite, Nev., were married here in the St. George temple Jan. 31. The bride is a daughter daugh-ter of J. M. Johnson and the groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Abbott. Harmon Deloy Abbott and Ella May Burgess were married in the St. George temple Jan. 1. The bride is a daughter of Isaac H. Burgess of Central Cen-tral and the groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Wiliam E. Abbott of Mesquite, Nevada. Miss Helena Graham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Graham, and a graduate of Dixie College, was married on January 23, 1928, to Dennis Lovelace Love-lace of Eugene, Oregon. Miss Graham Gra-ham had been teaching school at Eugene. Eu-gene. They were married by Dr. E. V. Stivers, pastor of the First Christian church at Eugene. Robert Reed Ferris of Mammoth who came here two weeks ago for his health died at 11:00 a. m. Tuesday at the home of George Beacham. ' He is survived by his wife, formerly Annie Westover, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Beacham of this city and by two small children. Relatives left at 4:00 p. m. Wednesday for Mammoth where funeral services will be held. |
