Show PANACA Panaca, Jan. 30. Mrs. Maggie Todd arrived last week from her home in San Bernardino, Calif., to care for her mother Mrs. Jane Lee who has been seriously ill for several weeks past. Mrs. Lee is slowly improving now. Philip Mathews is recovering from' rheumatism which has affected him for a month past. The home of Lafe Mathews was slightly damaged by fire last Tuesday, when the roof caught on fire from an over heated stove pipe. Three one act plays, "Neighbors,". "The Lie That Jack Built" and "The' Weasel" were presented by members of', the public speaking class of Lincoln' High school last week, under the dir-'. ection of Principal C. W. Price. The proceeds were given to the M. I. A. fund. j Mr. and Mrs. Vale Lee of Caliente were Sunday visitors here. E. F. Ronnon and Teddy Gentry were up from Tunnel No. 11, last Sunday. Sun-day. C. C. Ronnon and Mr. Sprague of Las Vegas were here last Sunday in the capacity of Home Missionaries. Miss Grace Terry of Enterprise, Utah, was a Sunday visitor here. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Phillips and Miss Gelva Terry of Caliente were here Sunday. Goldon Hollingshead and Miss Amy Earl motored from Caliente Sunday and attended religious services. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wilcox and children were up from Caliente last Sunday. Mrs. Josie Wadsworth spent Sunday at Pioche visiting at the home of her daughter Mrs. Grant Miles. The basket ball team of Lincoln high returned Saturday from Overton where they won the game played on Friday eve. The score of 28-27 was won after a hard fought battle. Mr. and Mrs. Al. R. Williams motored motor-ed to Caliente last Monday. Miss Ruby Danvers teacher in Pahranagat Valley spent the week end here with relatives. Mrs. Jos. Hollinger, Mrs. Sarah Gentry, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Hollinger Holling-er and James Hollinger motored from Eagle Valley to attend the plays presented pre-sented at the high school last Friday night. Mrs. Bertha L. Kiphart and children of Pioche, Mrs. Wm. Butler, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Lee, "Lawrence Lee of Panaca, Charles Lee of Wilson Creek and Mrs. Lottie Inachenbush of Caliente Cali-ente were guests at dinner last Friday eve of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pace at Caliente. Mr. and Mrs. Taylor Snow arrived last week from Las Vegas. A. V. Lee spent last week in Salt Lake City. |
