HERBERT LORENZO Duchesne resident dies in Roosevelt hospital Herbert Lorenzo, 67, of Duchesne, beloved husband, father, son and grandfather, passed away June 19, 1981 in a Roosevelt hospital of a heart ailment. Born May 13, 1914 in Wallsburg, Utah to Brigham Warren and Sylvia Clegg Mecham. Married Artamesia Mecham July 20, 1938. Their marriage was later solomized in the Salt Lake Temple June 16, 1964. Known throughout the Uintah Basin as owner and operator of Mecham Sand and Gravel of Duchesne for 25 years. He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as scout leader and Sunday School Superintendant. He was a skilled trapper. Served in the Civilian Conservation Corps, and worked for Consolidated Air Craft in San Diego, Calif. Survived by his wife and mother of Duchesne; a son and six daughters. Herbert Lee, Mrs. Keith (Barbara) Rowley, Tamera. all of Duchesne; Mrs. Lowell (Joyce) Rohrbach, North Salt Lake; Mrs. Robert (Jill) Ketterer, Sandy; Mrs. Bill (Vickie) Hunt, Vernal; Ver-nal; Mrs. John (Gwen) Beck, Provo; 22 grandchildren, one grandson is presently serving an LDS mission in Guatamala; three brothers, Warren, Cima City, Calif.; Blaine, Duchesne; Kay, West Jordan; sisters, Mrs. Wade (Marie) Wilkins, Colorado Springs, Colo.; Mrs. Ken (Gladvs) Ivie, West Jordan; Alene Thomas, West Valley City, Mrs. Jack (June) Lozan, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Selby (Beulah) Williams, Salt Lake City and Chloe Bratcher, Duchesne. Funeral services were Monday, June 22. at the Duchesne Stake Chapel. Interment In-terment was in the Strawberry Cemetery. |
