The official grand opening of the Vernal McDonald's will be held Sat., July 18 when Ronald McDonald will be present along with many other sales promotions, said Goodman. The Vernal store is number 5861 in the franchise. There are over 6500 McDonald's outlets over the country. The restaurant area of the Vernal store will seat 62 persons. The structure contains about 3,000 square feet of floor space and has about two acres of land. This is a small size store for McDonald's Mc-Donald's but we expect to enlarge it soon, stated Goodman. The McDonald's structure was contracted by the Keller Construction Company. The total facility and property represents and investment of nearly $1 million estimated Goodman. The business will employ over 50 persons working three shifts. Business hours will be from 6:30 a.m. until 11 p.m. seven days a week. McDonald's has a tight franchise and requires us to be open specific hours all week-long and year long. We only take two holidays a year, Goodman said. McDonald's own the land and buildings of its franchised outlets and the owner-operators own the equipment, equip-ment, furnishings and decorations inside the stores, said Goodman. Before moving to Vernal Goodman lived in Boulder, Colo., where for 12 years he was McDonald's licensee and had eight stores to manage. Goodman and his wife have one 12-year-old daughter at home and three grown children. |
