Golfers from Utah, Wyoming and Colorado competed in the low-am and invitational. Lady golfers sie honors in Journey Nina Pease, Virginia Garner and Meb Wardell captured gross titles in the Ladies Invitational, June 17 at the Dinaland Golf Course. Pease placed first in the A flight with a score of 86. She posted scores of: 356446453-40 and 445575664-46. Garner nabbed first place in the B flight with a 99 tally. She fired scores of: 566665554-48 and 367657674-51. Wardell pocketed first in the C flight at 104. She posted tallies of: 547556765-50 and 556766874-54. Judy Larson garnered second place gross in the A flight with a score of 93. She posted rounds of 47 and 46. Betty Hart gained third place honors at 94. She had rounds of 48 and 46. Dixie Chavez placed fourth at 95. She had tallies of 48 and 47. Judy Roberts pocketed second place in the B flight gross class with a 103 score. She fired rounds of 51 and 52. Dode Rolfe placed third at 104 with tallies of 53 and 51. Helen Hood garnered gar-nered fourth place at 106. She posted nine hole scores of 53. Louise York and Betty Murray tied for second place gross in the C flight at 108. Murray had rounds of 59 and 49. Dot Elmer captured cap-tured fourth place with a 111 tally and she had nine hole scores of 53 and 58. The first place net and gross golfers netted $60 and second place was worth $45. The third place golfers were awarded $30 and fourth place netted each golfer $15. Ginny Denton captured first place in the A flight net class at 71. Denton had a gross score of 92 and her handicap of 21 gave her a 71 net score. She fired rounds of 45 and 47. Val Johnson placed second at 73. She fired a gross score of 93 and had a handicap of 20. She posted nine hole rounds of 47. Joann Winkelhake and Mickey Igo tied for third place at 74. Winkelhake had a gross score of 98, but her handicap of 24 gave her a 73 net score. She posted rounds of 50 and 48. Igo fired a 100 gross score and had a 26 handicap. She had nine hole scores of 46 and 54. First place in the net class in the B flight was netted by Carol Mozley with a score of 67. She fired a gross score of 99 and had a handicap of 32. She posted rounds of 50 and 49. Elaine Gun-collected Gun-collected second place with a 70 tally. Gurr fired a gross score of 103 and had a handicap of 33. She posted scores of 52 and 51. Carol Corello nabbed third place at 74 and Lou Todd placed fourth at 75. Corello had a gross score of 108 and had a handicap of 32. She had nine hole tallies of 50 and 58. Todd had a gross tally of 107 and a handicap of 32. She fired nine hole scores of 53 and 54. Marie Pace and Esther Sturgeon tied for first place net honors in the C flight. Pace had a gross score of 107 and a handicap of 40. She posted rounds of 51 and 56 and Sturgeon fired a gross score of 107 and also had a 40 handicap. She had nine hole scores of 53 and 54. One of the key holes for the two golfers was number nine. Pace gained a seven on number nine, the second time around, and Sturgeon's second visit to the number nine hole was a happy event as she gained a three tally. Linda Floyd gained third place honors with a 74 tally. She had rounds of 55 for a 110 gross score and had a handicap of 36. Diane Mauss picked up fourth place at 76. She posted a gross score of 116 and had a 40 handicap. She had nine hole scores of 57 and 59. The team of Jere Lenhart, Lorraine Higgins, Dode Rolfe and Wilma Lee acquired first place in the Ladies Low-Am Low-Am Tournament June 16 with a score of 115. The team posted scores of 567567984-57 and 668865694-58. Each golfer won $71.25. Chuck Henry, Val Johnson, Judy Roberts and Louise York and Sam Snyder. Gerrie Buckalew, Helen Hall, Meb Wardell tied for second place at 119. The two teams fired scores of 60 and 59. Each golfer won $44.51. The crew of Chuck Floyd, Judy Larson, Elaine Gurr and Gerrie Voyles earned fourth place with a score 120. The team fired rounds of 57 and 63 and each golfer nabbed $17.85. Craig Hart, Joanne Winkelhake, Mildred Tadlock and Linda Floyd netted fifth place with a 121 tally. The Wall team posted scores of 60 and 62 and the Ashton crew fired scores of 63 and 59. Gene Hall, Phyllis Trough, Lola Anderson and Jerry Florety netted eighth place at 123. The golfers posted rounds of 60 and 63. Denton was closest to the pin on number nine in the Vernal Invitational and Larsen had the long drive in the A flight. Also nabbing longest drives were Mozley. B flight and Floyd, C flight. Gerrie Buckalew was closest to the pin on number one and Igo was closest to v .'. -:i j, .,!
