Show 'n 1945 ' Jensen auction a success A huge success was realized from our annual auction and a lot of people came out to support it. The MIA movie was shown after which awards were given to the four main characters, then the explorer boys presented bouquets to the adults who helped them achieve this honor. Eugene Woody traveled to Craig, Colo., to an invitational AAU Boxing Tournament and received runner-up trophy there. The outstanding students from Jensen who attend Naples Elementary School who received honors last Tuesday March 24 are kindergarten-Joe kindergarten-Joe Dudley, Kale Christiansen, Karen Snow. First grade-Justin Tolley. Second grade-Kate Allred, Cable Murray, Clifford Christiansen. Third grade-Mike Allred. Fourth grade-Jennifer grade-Jennifer Wilkens, Shane Turner. Fifth grade-Gary Dudley, Mickie Sharp. These students were all awarded medals and certificates by Dr. Mur- phy- Jennifer Wilkens won the "Design a school flag contest." Her theme was "Naples Wiseguys Makes the Best Better." Karen Gross made the flag and presented it to the school at the assembly and it will be flown on the flag pole in front of the school along with the U.S. flat and state of Utah flag Queeda Chew, daughter of Dean and Laura Chew was elected FFA president for the coming school year. A baby shower was given to honor the wife of Alan Chew (Grace) who is expecting a baby soon. Many friends and relatives attended. Alan's sister, ReNee, put on a special quilt for everyone to work on instead of the usual games. Afterwards, Grace was presented with the quilt that had all the guests handwork on it. Stan Peterson went with Mr. and Mrs. Grant Ainge to Meeker, Colo., to return Shawn Moody to his home after he'd spent some time here. |
