Show Flaming Gorge recreation report for July 24th week The report issued by the Ashley National Forest in its "Flaming Gorge News" concerning recreational facilities and conditions in Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area for the July 24 week is as follows: CAMPGROUNDS All campgrounds are open. The water at Hideout Campground Cam-pground is off due to maintenance repairs. It will probably be off for the entire season. FLAMING GORGE RESERVOIR The reservoir level is 6023 feet and is expected to raise to a peak of 6025 this summer. Fishing of rainbows in the canyon area has been fair. The surface temperature has reached 70 degrees. RIVERS AND STREAMS Streams are low and clear and fishing is good. The Green River has continued to be good fishing this summer. ROADS All roads are open. Dirt roads are becoming rough and dusty. TRAILS All trails are open to the high mountain lakes. Some of these lakes such as Daggett, Anson, Red and Potter are muddy from high spring runoff. All trails are open to motorbikes, motor-bikes, except the Little Hole and North Fork Sheep Creek Trails which are closed to motor vehicles. GENERAL The weather has been sunny and hot with afternoon temperatures tem-peratures approaching 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Some afternoon cumulus has helped lower temperatures slightly but increased the relative humidity. Utah Army National Guard weekend exercises are scheduled for the first two weekends in August. The exercises will involve the movement of troops with helicopters. |
