Blood pressure clinic, July 28, will be at the Golden Agen Center, following Monday's dinner at 2 p.m. On August 4, at 1:30 p.m., the Utah State Coalition of Senior Citizens will hold a district meeting at the Golden Age Center in Vernal. The purpose of the meeting will be to elect a delegate and an alternate to the Coalition's Board of Directors. Senior Coalition members and representatives from each of the District Six counties (Duchesne and Uintah), are expected to attend, as well as any Senior Citizens who are interested in joining the coalition. In addition, there will be a luncheon at 12:30 p.m., before which memberships to the Senior Coalition will be accepted. Reservations to the luncheon can be made by calling the Golden Age Center, 789-2169. The wedding dance of Joy Egan and John Marsella was thoroughly enjoyed by a capacity crowd Friday night. The new bride wore a beautiful chalk blue gown accented with rhinestones on the tapered sleeves and neckline. John, the groom, was emcee for the program. Alisa Pace of Clearfield and Laina Egan, daughters of the bride, sang "Annie's Song," accompanied by Laina on the guitar. Joy sang "You Light Up My Life," accompanied by Marie P. Hatch. The couple served the most lushious refreshments, which in dded a fruit bowl, brownies, a beautiful wedding cake decorated with bells, pink and blue flowers. A light blue lace tablecloth accented the serving table. Assisting the couple with the serving were: Lillian Elder, Pat Searle and Gwen Bensen. The couple will be making their home in Roosevelt. We wish them many happy years together. Newcomers were Mr. and Mrs. Kelly Sprouse, Roosevelt; Chuck West, Richard Padils of Vernal; Alisa's Paces' husband and baby of Clearfield. Welcome back: Burle and Mondena Bell, Larry and Monyal Hayes. We're glad to see you all back. We were sorry to hear Pauline Walker had the misfortune to break her leg Friday. She is in the Uintah County Hospital. A get-well card was signed by the dancers. We hope too that Paul Murray is feeling better, so he and Ada can join us again soon. We mentioned in our last weeks news that Elma, Marie and Vena will be taking a night off to attend the Rasmussen reunion. We are going to have a dance Friday. The Thacker Band will be on hand. So be sure to come and have a good time. Newel's Harmony Four will be back Aug. 1. We were sorry to have Tina Wilkins and Fay Muir leave early Friday night. Word came via police dept., that Fay's daughter, who is married to Tina's grandson, was in an automobile accident that evening. Thanks again to Joy and John for the great evening. Also, we just learned that Milt Wooley fell and is going to be down for the next week. Hurry and get well. See you all next week. Monday's fried chicken dinner at the Golden Age Center, had 110 enjoying the meal and the beautiful music of Tony Woodhouse on the coronet. On the menu for next Monday, July 28, is: turkey casserole; potatoes and gravy; tossed green and jello salads; relish plate; coconut macaroons and ice cream. Bingo winner for the week of July 15 was Meg Goodrun, with five games. Second place was Alice Mott with four games. A tie for third was between Marion Swain and Lena Mast each having three games. The history group returned late Saturday night from their trip to Dowd Mountain. The stopped on the way up to the mountain at the Red Fleet Dam dedication, then to Swett Ranch and were showed around by a Forest Serviceattendant, who explained to the group the buildings and farming equipment. After that, they had lunch, then went to Dowd Mountain where they went to Mr. Dowd's burial site and also where he farmed. All 24 enjoyed the excursion and can't wait for the next trip.
