Couple married in Catholic Church rites Michele Hill and Kirk DeMille were married Saturday, June 28, 1980 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Santa Barbara, Calif. Father Joseph Azaidian officiated at the candlelight ceremony. The candles were lit by the alter boys. Large baskets of fresh mums and gladiolas arranged on tall pedestals were on either side of the alter. Michele is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Hill of Simi Valley, Calif. Kirk is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Voorhies of Vernal. The lovely bride was escorted to the alter on the arm of her father. Her bridal gown was fashioned of white polyester knit. It featured a "U" neckline. The fitted bodice and long fitted sleeves had cotton Venice lace appliques. The full circular skirt with attached chapel length train was fully trimmed in matching lace. Her full circular lace trimmed fingertip veil was held in place by a cap of silk Venice lace and pearls. She wore her great grandmother's gold cross and carried a bouquet of roses with long satin streamers. Anne Hill, sister of the bride was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Paula Tottell, Michele Kamaka, Rosaline Montgomery, Andrea Powell and. Christine Strieker. Flower girl was Shelby Walker and the ring bearer was Gregory Walker. The attendants gowns in peach colored satin crepe were styled with Mandarin necklines. The sheer rounded yokes were edged with wide ruffles of lace appliques. They carried a bouquet of fresh flowers in the brides choice of colors, peach and brown. " The' brides mother wore a peach colored gown, styled with a high neckline it - featured an accordian pleated cape. The grooms mother wore beige with a blouson bodice. They each wore a large white orchid surrounded with babys breath. The brides grandmother, Mr. Georgiana Olcott, and the grooms grandmother, Mrs. Margery Murray, each wore a corsage of white carnations car-nations with babys breath. Attending the groom as best man was Dave Woffard. Ushers were Cliff Pavola, Alan Hill, Jim Hill, Rodney Ogden and Terry Slaugh. The groom and his attendants were attired in chocolate brown tuxedos. The couple greeted guests at a reception held in their honor at the Reindeer Room in Carpinteria, Calif. The rehearsal dinner was held at the ElPaseo restaurant in Santa Barbara, ' Calif. Special out-of-town guest were from Simi Valley, Canoga Park, Ventura, Riverside, Golata, Los Angeles County, Calif.; Vernal, and Prescott, Ariz. The happy couple honeymooned at Big Sur resort.
