Show UBIC art show judged by three artists nuee artists, Roman Andrus, Alex Darais and Erla Young will judge and critique the Uintah Basin Industrial Convention (UBIC) art show. Andrus, now retired from teaching college, has received international ' notoriety for his paintings, drawings and carvings. He has exhibited in the Boston Museum, Withita Print Annual, Association of American Artists Gallery, and the California State Fair. He is listed in Who's Who in American Art, Who's Who in Western Art and Who's Who in America. Alex Darais graduated with a Master of Fine Arts Degree from Claremont, Calif. He is presently a professor at BYU where he has instructed since 1954. He teaches advanced design, figure drawing and painting. Darais has created graphics and logos for Bonneville Bank, Ski and Cycle, Tote Gote, Sundance, and Carefree Campers. Cam-pers. He has also judged art for the Utah State Capital Art Show Spi iiigviile Art Museum and the Utah State Fair Erla Young, nationally known painter, designer and illustrator, is a visiting professor at BYU. Owner of "Artista Originals" in Salt Lake City, Mrs. Young is involved in many art forms, but specializes in fashion design and illustration. She authored and illustrated "Betsy Buttons." She was a winner in the 1979 Deseret News Art Show and currently has a painting on display in the Smithsonion Iastitute in Washington. D C. The three judges will be available for individual help and critique from 3 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 7. |
