Show New state BLAA director Gary J. Wicks of Montana has been named Utah state director for the Bureau of Land Management. He succeeds suc-ceeds Paul L. Howard who has retired after 35 years of federal service. Wicks, 39, has been deputy assistant secretary for land and water resources in the U.S. Department of the Interior since 1977. He served for five years as director of the Montana Department of Natural Resources prior to going to Washington and the Interior Department. In announcing the selection in Washington, D.C, Secretary of the Interior Cecil D. Andrus noted that Wicks' experience ex-perience at both the state and federal levels makes him an exceptional choice for dealing with the complexity of public land issues in Utah. |
