Show Dutch ohn I I June Schaffran I I Phone 885-3728 J The Christian Ministry plans campfire meet A Campfire gathering sponsored by the Christian Ministry in the National Parks will be held at the Firefighter's Memorial Amphitheatre on Tuesday, August 7, at 8:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend. Bring your own hot dogs, marshmellows and flashlights. The county nurse will be in town August 15 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Sandy and Bill Kunkel of Browns Park announced the birth of their son Ryan Paul, born July 1. Ryan 4aul weighed in at 6 pounds 8 ounces. Peggy and Greg Pittman of" Clay Basin announced the birth of their baby girl, born July 11. Baby Pittman weighed in at only 4 pounds 6 ounces. Clark Griffit, formerly of Preston, Idaho has taken Kathy 'Bachelor as his bride. Kathy is from Whitefish. Montana. Mon-tana. Clark and Kathy were married July 6 in the Logan Latter-day Saints Temple. The Griffits are making their home in Clay Basin. Evelyn Lund and children, Jennifer and Jeremy, have returned home after a months vacation in South Dakota. Traveling with them the first two weeks was John Lund. Their first week was spent visiting John's family in the Black Hills, Mr. and Mrs. Al Retzer and Mr. and Mrs. Sturgis. Then on to Spearfish to visit with George Lund. The last three weeks found the Lunds in Cresbard, South Dakota visiting Evelyn's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Lindhorst and brother and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Lindhorst. Donna Sample from San Jose, CA.; is in town visiting her sister, Judy Harris. Rene Harris returned home with her Aunt Donna after a month's stay in CA. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Cowden enjoyed the company of Mike and Linda Harner and their sons Scott and Kevin. The Harners are from Rowland Heights, CA. While visiting the Cowdens, Kevin celebrated his sixth birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Garn Anderson and family spent a long weekend Visiting relatives. Thursday evening they stayed in Upalco, Utah, at Carolyn's cousins, the Todd Thacker family. Then on to Moon Lake for a three day family reunion. There were 118 descendents of Arthur Maxfield, Carolyn's grandfather, grand-father, there to join in the fun. Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Fogg have joined the community of Dutch John. Daniel and Barbara have five children ranging in age from nine to fourteen. The Fogg family come to us from Page, Arizona. Daniel is the new Plant Mechanic for the Bureau of Reclamation. Jeff Edwards of Ogden has joined the Nicotera household. Jeff is the nephew of Anise Nicotera. Late for Last Week The U.S. Forest Service ooat was vandalized Sunday evening. July 22, behind the Dutch John Conoco Station. Due to the combined action of the U.S. Forest Service, the Daggett Counfy Sheriff's Department, the Utah Division of Parks and Recreation and the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, Resour-ces, two suspects were arrested and taken to the Uintah County Jail. The arrest occurred in the Cedar Springs area. The first "Black and White" Party in Dutch John was held Saturday, July 28 at sundown at the USBR Conference Hall. The dress for the event was, of course, black and white. The evening event was sponsored by 'Daughters of Poseidon' and all proceeds went to the CRSP fund. Ralph Cecil has returned home after a week's stay in the Vernal Hospital. Ralph suffered a mild heart attack a week ago Monday but is reported as doing well. Donnetta Collett spent last week in Salt Lake City on jury duty. Traveling with Donnetta was Leo Rettburg. Mr. and Mrs. Cole Busha of Rock Springs, were in town visiting Carl Ray and Wanda Collett. Johnny Rogers of Dutch John participated par-ticipated in the Bull Ride event at the Manila. Rodeo. Visiting with the Wes Harris family is Wes's mother Nona Harris from Roseville, CA. Also joining in is Wes's brother Randy Harris, his wife Jeanette, and their children Sherry, Shelly. Tina and Trina from Red Mesa, Colorado. The Harris family is part of the larger Hadden family reunion which has been meeting at a local campground. Beckie and Leslie Barber have returned home after a month's stay in Munday, Texas. Marcia Barber's sister Carol Rasmusson from St. Paul. Minnesota was here for a short stay. The Ron Cowden family has been ; busy entertaining company. Karen's J brother Jim Knopp, his wife, Renate, and children. Jim and Cristy from Lake wood. CA.; were here for a week. Also visiting at the same time was Karen's other brother Ron Knopp, his wife, Carolyn, and their children, Jennifer, Adam and Ryan from El Paso, Texas. |
