Show CHERRY CREEK ACTIVITY. More, than the usual amount of activity Is noticeable In the development of the mining properties In the Cherry Creek section. One of the best disclosures has recently been made in the Nevada Consolidated, Con-solidated, which has nine full claims adjoining ad-joining the Star mine, and Is held largely by J. W. Walker and Alfred Fletcher. These men say that the company has Installed its gasoline hoist, and that the shaft is now down seventy-five feet, on a vein of gold and silver ore from four and a half to five feet wide. Assays from wall to wall average $38 to the ton, but the ore runs from $15 to $1400 to the ton. Work on the Joanna mine of the Hartford-Nevada company has been resumed under the direction of Manager W. J. Wallace. Walker and Fletcher have purchased from Harry Hummell the June Bug group of seven claims, two miles southwest of Cherry Creek, which they will develop. It Is understood the Vulcan company has acquired control of the claims of Clarence Fllmore and Ben Harrison about two and a half miles west of Cherry Creek. It was on these claims that the recent strike of $400 ore was made. Like the June Bug, the Fllmore-Harrlson claims are copper properties, carrying good values In gold. |
