Show MAY DAY TO RESUME. ' ' Operations at the May Day property In the Tlntlc district have been suspended temporarily, as the new management Intends In-tends to make some changes, and is awaiting a visit to the mine by President John Dern. As a result of the closedown, close-down, some inquiry has been made at the local offices to ascertain the cause, hut as soon as it became known that the operations would be resumed as soon as a few changes are made, all concerned felt satisfied. Under the leadership of John Dern. it is expected that the second-class ores will , be treated in the future at the mill of the Uncle Sam Consolidated, and it seems reasonably sure that these two properties, which adjoin and are practically controlled con-trolled by the same people, will be operated oper-ated jointly, instead of independently, as heretofore. Both the May Day and Uncle Sam have good tonnages of ore blocked out, though the May Day has armost all of Its resources In the second grade stuff that can be profitably handled by concentration. concentra-tion. The Uncle Sam Is Just now being opened up into a portion of Its territory that promises to be the most Interesting ' part of the property developed, since the controlling Interests were obtained by Dern and his associates. .Superintendent Griggs of the Uncle Sam has already assumed the management of the May Day, and it is said after a conference con-ference and an Inspection of the underground under-ground workings with President Dern, the plans for future development and operations opera-tions will be decided upon and put Into execution at once. |
