Show The extraordinary demand which has been made to hear Miss Nielsen has resulted re-sulted in hundreds being turned away from the cheaper parts of the Salt Lake Theater lor La Boheme tonight. Both Mr. Pyper and Miss Nielsen have received innumerable requests to give a further opportunity of Miss Nielsen's being heard by her admirers before leaving Salt Lake. Bitter disappointment disappoint-ment is expressed at that matinee which was originally to have been given Wednesday having been cancelled can-celled owing to the necessity of the company leaving tomorrow, Tuesday night. Under the circumstances. Miss Nielsen Niel-sen has consented to sing at a special performance of Barber of Seville tomorrow to-morrow afternoon at 2 o'clock sharp, at which time popular prices will be charged. This opera has been especially selected, se-lected, as it is one of Miss Nielsen's most brilliant creations, and in the famous fa-mous lesson scene gives her an opportunity oppor-tunity of being heard in English songs, which is one of the features of her phenomenal success throughout the United States. The role of Rosina is full of bright comedy, and the entire opera is one long succession of merriment. merri-ment. Indeed there are scenes in which the public is convulsed with laughter, and Miss Nielsen's performance of the tantalizing, coquettish Rosina has been hailed with enthusiasm. |
