Show HEBER J. GRANT TELLS OF TITHING Tithing and tenacity to the truths of Mormonlsm as its adherents conceived the truth were dilated upon yesterday In the Tabernacle by Apostle Heber J. Graut, recently returned from Europe, and by Elder Matbonlhah Thomas. The apostle stated, and with enthusiasm, enthusi-asm, that during his wide experience in Europe and as an official of the Mormon church, not one of the missionaries sent abroad had apostatized, and that the church did not find it necessary to warn Its workers not to look upon the works of other churches. This, be claimed, was practiced by the latter In all parts of the world. Free will offerings and tithes glvpn out of kindness of heart and belief In the honesty and sincerity of church officials, according to Elder Thomas, marked the system of tithes In the Mormon church. No one is compelled to give up a tenth of his profits, he said; no one Is forced to aid the church. All offerings were given voluntarily and to help spread the Mormon gospel |
