Patronage has been heavy, sometimes even to the point that prospective customers have been turned away. It Is estimated .that Cor-nero's Cor-nero's ship alone clears $75,000 a week. The gamblers declare the racket gives employment to a thousand persons with an aggregate monthly payroll of $150,000. With California's efforts to control this clever gambling business apparently blocked by the court's decision, it seems certain Uncle Sam will be asked to take a hand. At the last session the house passed a bill outlawing gambling ships in coastal waters at the request of Attorney General Frank Murphy. However, How-ever, the measure got lost in the adjournment shuffle. No doubt the bill will be revived at the next session.
