Show iiJv iJ.il Dr. Attias Is Acquitted, aci Ills Fee, S'lliris, Is at Once Placed Under Arrest: Dr. P. G. P. Attias, the Greek physician physi-cian arrested a few days ago on a charge of practicing: medicine without a license, was found hot guilty and discharged dis-charged bf City Judge C. B. Dlehl. in the State criminal division of the City court Friday morning. The arrest of Dr. Attias was said- to have been the result of a feud between him and Leon Idas Ekllrts, who is alleged to be a railroad labor contractor. Ski iris was one of the two witnesses who appeared against Attias when the case was tried early In the week. Judge Dlehl, in making the decision said that the testimony of the two witnesses was of so contradictory a character that va conviction could not be had. The testimony testi-mony of SkJlrls wa on an improper foundation and the greater part of this was expunged. As soon as Attias was given his liberty, liber-ty, he had the satisfaction of witnessing the service of a warrant on Skllrls, who had Just left the courtroom, arresting him on a charge of 'conducting an employment em-ployment agency without first having procured a license. The complaint was signed by License Inspector Halvorsen. Skllrls was taken attnce before Judge Dlehl, who was In chambers, by Patrolman Patrol-man Sperry, who served the warrant, where he was released on his own recognisance, recog-nisance, with orders to appear before the court Friday afternoon for arraignment. |
