The Senate passed the naval appropriation bill and military academy bllL Mr. Blackburn moved to take up the Llttlefleld anti-trust bllL Mr. Quay said he wanted to state that If the vote came upon the bill direct he would ask to be excused, as he owned stock In some of the so-called trusts affected by the bill, but he reserved the right to vote upon taking it up. Mr. Blackburn's motion was defeated, 28 to 38, a party vote, with the exception of Mr. McComas and Mr. Wellington of Maryland and Mr. Nelson of Minnesota, The Senate, at 1:45 p. m went into executive session to consider the Panama Pana-ma canal treaty.
