The local officials are indignant over the scheme to misrepresent their stock on the market, and will not spars any efforts to locate the persons who cut the wire and telephoned the statement to the papers. - It Is hinted that the scheme was originated here, that some one wishing to unload some surplus shares hoped to sell them at an advance on the strength of the reported strike before telephone connections could be established, and the true state of affairs learned. .
