Show FIVE DEAD; SIXTY STRIKERS WOUNDED Sixty of the Hob of Miners Held in West Virginia for Violating .... r: Injunction. -V ; ' ' CHARLESTON. W. Vs., Feb. 28. Marshal Cunningham and posse brought ' ten of the Stanisfords in yesterday on charges of violating an injunction of the United States court. Sixty are held by the State authorities at Beckley on charges of conspiracy, but the Government Gov-ernment will ask that they be turned over for criminal prosecution. Five are dead as a result of the battle bat-tle and sixty wounded are accounted for. -. . Deputy marshals report that armed resistance to Federal authority in the New and Hlney fields has been thoroughly thor-oughly broken as a result of the battle bat-tle at Stanlnford. The posse captured besides seventy-one seventy-one prisoners, nearly 100 guns, sixty pistole and a quantity of ammunition. Many United Mine-Workers here denounce de-nounce this mob violence and approve the action of the officers. |
