The junior and senior students In the west side high school have decided to complete their work for the year and will pay tuition for the extra ironth. . A part of the teachers at the Union Fchool are poln-x to withdraw after May 4th ani the other teachers have signified their intention cf doubling up with the work and running the whole school the full year. Their salaries will be raised by tuition. At the Grant. school, the salaries of two of the teachers have been guaranteed guaran-teed by a patron. A meeting of patrons Is to be held at the Oqulrrh at 4 o'clock this afternoon after-noon for the purpose of considering he matter of raising the money necessary neces-sary to keep the school open. . The Wasatch school expects to have a surplus from its entertainment and It Is said the surplus will be devoted to the Longfellow school. A patron has guaranteed the full salary of one teacher In the Whlttier school and it Is not doubted but that the salaries of the others can be raised In due time. It has been definitely decided to close the Jackson Bchool, only $400 of the $1200 necessary having been raised. |
