SACRIFICE FOR PEACE . i Wcmn Kills Herself to ' Reunite Estranged Husband Hus-band and Wife. BRIDGEPORT, Conn., April 27. Convinced that her death was the only means of reuniting an estranged husband hus-band and wife, Miss Jane Hawkins 1 killed . herself yesterday by drinking j laudanum. Neighbors found her body In the old homestead at Easton, ten miles from this city, where she lived alone. Beside i the body, near her bed, was a vial which had contained laudanum. She had written a letter explaining that, although innocent of any Intended wrongdoing, she had been responsible for separating the husband and wife, and had decided that, in order to prove her innocence, she had better kill herself, her-self, and by her death bring together her friends. She had not the money, she wrote, to go far away, where , she would cease to be a barrier to the reunion. re-union. ,
